In the fall of 2006, we
celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Rainsville's
city government. The city known as "The Crossroads of Sand Mountain"
was incorporated in the fall of 1956. The Heritage Project was started
to help preserve the past while celebrating the 50th anniversary.
