Parker Town: The
Joe Parker Family Gallery (28 photos)
Joe and Lucinda
(Cindy) Parker moved to the Rainsville area of Sand Mountain
in about 1896-1897. He traded his horse and saddle for 80 acres
of land just south of the Rainsville crossroads.
Joe and Cindy raised
a large family as Rainsville grew during the 1900s, 1910s and
1920s. The town was called Parker Town from about 1902-1907.
This
gallery includes photos from Mary Jo Patton Grant's scrapbook.
Ms Grant is the daughter of Stella Parker Patton, and granddaughter
of Joe and Cindy Parker.
